Yearbooks on Sale!

Yearbooks will be on sale for the low price of $30 until December 31, 2016.  After December 31, the cost of yearbooks will be $35.  Parents can order a yearbook and place ad/dedications for their child at Balfour.com.  This year, the yearbook is offering QR codes that will link parents to videos of the grade level programs.  Order a yearbook today!

Submit photos to the yearbook! Visit images.balfour.com to upload from your computer. Use project number 718770 and password Kaufman.  You can also search for the “Balfour Image Share” app in your app marketplace to share pictures from your phone.

Peppermint Village Store needs volunteers

peppermint  The Peppermint Village Holiday Store will be next week, December 5th-8th. This is a place where children can buy inexpensive items for the people on their holiday shopping list. Adult volunteers help the kids make their purchases and bag the items. We need many volunteers for a successful store!! Please sign up if you can. apple-borders-for-teachers-dana-teacherlabel-heartapple-500px  PTO will be catering an appreciation luncheon for the teachers and staff on Tuesday, December 13th.  We are asking for donations of homemade or store bought desserts to complete the meal.  Donated items will need to be delivered to the school no later than 10:00 that Tuesday morning.

We would also like to have parents volunteer to work lunch duty so that our teachers and staff can eat lunch together.  This entails walking around the cafeteria and monitoring students during their lunch time and helping them open items as needed. http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e084aaba729ab9-teacher5

Generation Texas Week

November 14-18, CISD will be celebrating Generation Texas Week. This is a time we emphasize the wonderful possibilities for a child’s future. We encourage all students to think about college as the next step after high school graduation. To celebrate this week we invite you to participate with us:

Monday Careers “Dress for Success” – Students dress up as their favorite career and teachers dress up as “If I hadn’t been a teacher, I would have been”

Tuesday Back to Your Future Day – Wear your favorite college shirts, hats, socks, etc.

Wednesday Transitions Day – so what’s after Kaufman?  Wear a feeder zone shirt: Vogel, Irons, or Oak Ridge.

Thursday – Hats Off To A Successful Future!  Wear hats to school.

Friday No Dress Up.

This week is also our annual food drive for the Montgomery County Food Bank to help feed families within Montgomery County.  Students may bring items to place in the grade level bins that will located in the cafeteria all week. We appreciate your support for this wonderful organization!

Fun Run Update

Thank you so much for participating in this year’s Lights, Camera, Cougars Fun Run at Kaufman Elementary!

As of right now we have collected 76% of what was pledged. That is great, but there’s still more to reach our goal for school improvement.

Please help us reach our 100% collection goal!

The second Due Date for pledges is Friday, October 14.

Checks can be written to the Kaufman Elementary PTO and turned into your student’s teacher or into the front office.

Also, sponsors are able to pay online if an email address was entered at the time of the pledge.
